nervous nervous nervous

I've been optimistic for many weeks that The Sarah Connor Chronicles is going to get renewed, but as we close in on the 18th, I'm so fucking nervous I don't know what to do with myself. I've never been this emotionally invested in a TV show before. I blame Sarah.

Please don't leave me.

Thanks for reigniting my early morning butterflies!

I have done the emotional investment thing before, but never ever with a show that lives this close to the edge.

And yeah, I blame Sarah too. In the nicest possible way of course ;-)

Heh. Oops. Sorry.

This is a first for me. First fandom. First show I've ever written fan fiction for (or ever read any for that matter). First show I've ever made custom action figures for. First show I ever made icons or wallpaper for. First show I ever knew the episode names of. First show I ever got into hours-long passionate debates about. First show I've ever followed ratings for. And the first show I've ever participated in a campaign to save it.

I feel like a total nerd. And I blame Sarah for that too (in the nicest possible way, of course).

Heh, when you geek out, you really geek out! FWIW, I would wait till whenever to get new episodes, so long as we were assured that they were coming.

So we have to hope that all the new pilots are shite, Keifer goes to jail and Dollhouse continues to suck? Wow. *shrugs* Okay, I can live with that *g*

*g* I am all for sacrifices... so long as it's not me making them ;-) Hell, I'll send Keifer a cake with a file in it if it'll help any.

All of the above for me with the exception of the action figures. I'm not that handy.

I'm hiding under a rock until Monday because every time I think it's safe to take a peak I wish a hadn't then I start panicking and then I feel the tears working their way to the surface.

I live and breath by getting myself emotionally invested in my fandoms.

I'm holding onto one bit of renewed hope - the whole mess w/ Keifer is going to put a possible crimp in their lineup if he has to go back to jail. They might just go ahead and greenlight S3 of TSCC just so that they can be assured of having another established show to fill their line up in case 24 has to get put on ice.

I would have no problem w/ them holding off on S3 until Winter.

Erika, I swear I don't know how you do it... all those fandoms. I can't even imagine loving another show as much as TSCC (or having the time too!).

I'll take s3 whenever we can have it, but it seems counter-productive to not put it on the fall schedule if they have hopes of pulling in any T4 audience. Actually, T4 would probably come out on DVD around Christmas, wouldn't it? So they could push the show heavily then for a Jan or Feb start. I certainly don't mind waiting to see s3, as long as I know it's coming!

It would be odd to cancel a couple days before Salvation. But I think there is no relationship between the show and movie at all. They come from competing studios. Fox may be waiting till today for early reviews on the movie to see how interest is in the franchise. Also politically it would be a bad move with Fox-hating on the internet higher than ever if they did. I'm worried they wouldn't care and would sabatoge the movie with bad news.

I'm hoping they'll renew with a plan to make the show more exciting, even if its 8 more episodes, just to see what happens. They should make it 100% future war for season 3 premiere.

They come from competing studios.

Actually, they're both made by Warner Brothers. Fox buys the show from WB, but WB produces it. Even though the stories don't overlap, a huge T4 audience could mean a boost in TSCC audience. So really, it makes sense for both WB and Fox to continue TSCC for another season. But I'm still nervous anyway.

They should make it 100% future war for season 3 premiere.

Dude, NO! Then there would be no Sarah!!!!! No Sarah = BAD.

Breathe, Roxy. :-)

I've been a fan of many, many things over the years and I've been down this road many, many times. I still remember when Farscape was unjustly cancelled after we were promised another year and there was much wailing and lamenting and gnashing of teeth. I'm not as invested in TSCC as I was in Farscape, but of the shows currently on the air it's the one I want renewed the most. I guess that makes it my favorite currently-airing series. But you have to kind of take a Zen attitude towards these things: what will happen will happen, and we've done all we can to affect the outcome. Worrying won't help. If the bastards at FOX cancel it, then that's a damn shame, but this too will pass. All good things must end eventually, and what's important is that you enjoyed them while they lasted. There will be other good things in the future. Plenty of fish in the sea.

So I'm just going to hope for the best. I got too many other things to worry about that I actually can have an effect on.

And if things don't pan out... well, then I'll volunteer to help you find a nice rebound show to bounce back with. I'm sure there's some other show out there full of self-reliant, badass, well-armed women with emotional damage. One of them may even have boots you can covet. ;-)

I'm so not good at being zen, especially when it comes to Sarah Connor.

Aw thanks :)
I'm really loving Fringe, so I'd probably throw myself more into that. It's not the same, though. Olivia Dunham is pretty kickass, but she's no Sarah Connor.

I'm with you on "Fringe," I wasn't so sure at first but the last few episodes have pushed the insanity to appropriate levels and I'm hooked.

I loved it since the pilot episode, but I started to waiver a bit once they introduced the sister and every episode seemed to have to end with Olivia looking sweetly at her sleeping niece. *gag* But the show definitely got really awesome at the end.

I couldn't figure out what the appeal of Fringe was. The few episodes I saw seemed like Bad Science, Bad Writing and mediocre acting. Does it really get good by the end? All the shows I'm currently watching just ended for the summer and I've suddenly heard a lot of good things about Fringe so I'm thinking of giving it a whirl, but the payoff better be worth it. (And Leonard Nemoy doesn't cut it. At least not my himself).

Glad to help, of course.

(It is possible that I already have such a series in mind.) ;-)

Is that show good? The early reviews were pretty negative, so I never watched it.

Next week may be the best week ever or the worst week ever or the most bitter sweet ever. Meaning, show renewed and movie rocks my socks, or show canceled and movie stanks, or show canceled and movie rocks. I just really, realllly want it to be the best week ever.

I've given everyone I know IRL fair warning that Monday may be a very good or very bad day for me.

Part of me feels really positive about Fox renewing the show. It just seems to make sense to. But, Fox has had a history of being tarted and screwing fans over. I just don't know what to expect.

I'm voting for Monday being the best day ever, with massive TSCC fan celebrations. Yeah. That's what I want :)

Awesome icon, BTW!

I am with you on this. I have had to stop thinking about it because it makes me so worried. I've been playing the episodes on Fox.com constantly--and we can only hope that winning the SOS poll will make something of a difference.

Sigh. I've never been this emotionally invested in a show that was this much at risk.

I was doing great until yesterday. The nerves have overtaken my ability to not think about it now. The fanbase has certainly been united and I think we've done an amazing job of showing massive support for the show. Hopefully it will impact Fox's decision.

I'm with ya Roxy! I swear, I won't know what to do with myself on Monday and my nerves - I think I'll do a self imposed news blackout until I can get home from work and have my reaction to whatever FOX's decision is, in peace. However, I really hope FOX has noticed the groundswell of fan support in the last month and how much the fans do not want this show to go.

There's a bunch of firsts for me too. First show that willingly made me go back to the madness of Comic Con. First show I've followed the ratings for. First show I've voted in for polls, participated in fan videos, called, emailed and written letters for. And the show that got me hooked on LJ - lol!

I'm keeping the hope alive that we'll be able to see more Sarah come Monday!

Ah yes - LJ. TSCC brought me here too and it's the reason I've met so many great people :)

I actually have some plans this weekend, which I'm thankful for. Maybe it'll keep my mind off Monday. In the meantime, I'm doing my best to concentrate on stuff (and failing miserably).
