Ever wonder what obsessed fans (after this, I think I can own that label) do when they should be working? Well I'll tell you. They try to figure out the mystery of the Connor house layout. To do that, they watch every scene of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" that's set in and around the house over and over again to pick up on clues to the floor plan. Next, they spend tedious hours diagramming the whole thing, even going so far as to add in furniture. Okay, so maybe all obsessed fans don't do that, but this one does—did. I love drawing floor plans anyway, so really this was a lot of fun for me. And now on to the fruits of my labor...
Keep in mind this is essentially a work-in-progress because there are sections of the house we've not seen, including a room behind the kitchen, a third bedroom on the first floor, and an upper level. Based on the layout of Cameron's room and the hallway outside of it. So I believe her room is upstairs. And either Derek is using that 3rd bedroom on the 1st floor (and we just haven't seen him in it yet) or he probably soon will be if he stays with the Connors.
If you have any questions about the layout or think something is wrong, let me know. The images are all the same, just different sizes. Take your pick:
Connor House Layout: 800 x 445 png
Connor House Layout: 1000 x 556 png
Connor House Layout: 1500 x 834 png
A fun thing I picked up from doing this (read no further if you haven't seen "What He Beheld")...
At the end of the finale, Sarah looks out John's window when she hears the explosion, but that window faces another house, not the street. The jeep would have most likely been parked on the kitchen side of the house (which is where they seem to come and go from most of the time) and there's no way she could have seen anything from that window.
NOTE: a new version with Cameron's room on the main level is available here.

I just love completely obssessive fans *LOL* they are the best!
This will be a great help to anyone plotting fic within the house :P
Glad you like it. The Connor house is quite intriguing and I'd been wanting to finish this for a while. If you hadn't asked for a house plan, I might never have done it. So thanks for motivating me. It was fun.
Seems pretty accurate, altho, one thing that bothers me about Cameron's room being upstairs?
Derek could barely make it from Sarah's room back to the couch, I don't see him being able to manage stairs in the same episode?
What do you think?
He seemed to walk from one room, across a hallway of sorts, and into her doorway, I suspect she might actually be on the ground floor somewhere?
Yes, I am a curious kitty ;)
p.s. I can see your reasoning, but my sticking point is still "he couldn't make it upstairs after having both lungs drained and one collapsed from shooting, he was still bleeding even."? :O
I can't wait for the next update then :D
This is all so intereting to me :D
If you mean the leaded glass skylight from Dungeons & Dragons, that wasn't in the Connor house, it was in the building Derek as chained up in, in the future.
Oh well, just an excuse to watch again :D
No, seriously: awesome! I'm so looking forward to next season.

It's actually the bit of the hall that you see in that scene that led me to believe her room couldn't be the third bedroom on the main level, so the only other spot it could be is behind the kitchen or upstairs, but I wouldn't expect a bedroom to be in that space behind the kitchen.
Either they screwed up and put John and Cam's room in the same spot when she should be in the spare room on F1 or Derek REALLY needs to complain about not having a room.
Something just wasn't sitting right with me in the foyer, so I rechecked some stuff and made some changes.
I was completely expecting this to be a joke post to this Onion article. Hee!
You rock!

The only thing I had a question about is the swing set. I had a distinct feeling it was in the backyard as it seemed to be in a fenced in area (seen in eps 7)... unless they have their front yard fenced in, which is odd but not out of the realm of possibility.
It's funny, I was just going through clips last night while working on a vid, and the exterior shots of the house just don't jive with what they show us of the inside. Silly writers!
Hallway outside Cameron's room.
Also, we catch a glimpse of some furnishings in that 3rd bedroom on the main level in "Vick's Chip" as Sarah is walking to the bathroom to confront Derek in the shower. You have to slow-mo to see, but the furniture in there doesn't match what's in Cameron's room.

I will never doubt the floor plan again.
1) I think Cameron's room is actually Sarah's room redressed., which extrapolated into the 'verse means it's either on the second
above Sarah's, which makes no sense as we have no reason to think the Connors are occupying more than one floor, or it's the next one down the hall. The light source in the cap is troubling but the room behind Derek seems to be the living room, which would fit, sort of, with the tracking shot of Sarah moving from John's room to hers in "Vick's Chip" where she seemed to go down the hall, around a short wall and then right into her bedroom.
Also, if we take the ever-mutating furniture arrangement in John's room, the furnishings in Camp Connor are pretty fluid, so the contents of Cameron's room not matching previously established shots should be discounted.
2) There can't be more than three bedrooms in the Connor's living space because Derek was sleeping on the couch with a gunshot wound, which implies both it's easier to look after him there but also all other space was allocated. I'm guessing Cameron has a room with clothes and bed a) for cover and b) so John and Sarah don't have to watch her change.
I'd kind of like to mail your layout to the production offices to get some feedback, eh?
This will take some work because I'm going to have to move John's room over to make that center bedroom bigger to account for the Cameron's furniture and also the closet in the back corner. That'll teach me to post a floor plan before taking ample time to obsess over the finished product. I've already updated the thing like 4 times. :D
I doubt you'd get any answer from production, but if you want to, wait until I've fiddled with moving Cameron's room.
Yes, because I? Tonnes of access to TSCC production offices. And if I did, you already know that floorplan would be somewhat low on the list of talking points ;)

The hallway from John to Sarah's room is fairly long - about two or three beats in that scene in VC.
You so know I'm printing this out when you're done.
In other words, awesome job! :D
And thanks for the comments everyone.

(I did this for both Serenity and Jake Foley's apartments back in th eday, and remember how freaking LONG it takes).
