Gymnastics ends at 5:30

The idea of Sarah working with Ellison isn't something I find plausible, but I expect it to happen anyway. Why? Because I think that was always Ellison's intended role. I don't mean he was meant to be Sarah's permanent partner (No, God no); I mean to be an ally to some extent, at least for a while. The character changed course, though, and by the time we get to DRONE SMASH, it seems impossible for Ellison to ever be redeemed much less trusted enough for Sarah to consider working with him. But I think I finally found a way for the man to be of some use.

I'm still holding with the idea that John Henry did not jump the future. I still believe he tricked Weaver into jumping so he'd be free to go confront his Kaliba brother and protect Savannah. And I think the fact that he didn't jump will be deduced pretty quickly, leaving where he might've gone as the mystery.

"Gymnasics ends at 5:30."

I think Savannah's going be picked up from gymnastics a little early by an odd man in khaki trousers and a light blue shirt. Ellison will figure that out, but it'll be too late — John Henry will have already vanished with Savannah and there won't be any riddles-for-clues in this game of hide and seek. Since Sarah and Ellison both have a stake in finding them, they'll be forced to work together.

It would be way more fun if she just pulled a gun and gave him until the count of three to figure out where the metal took the girl, but I kind of doubt that'll happen. Anyway, I'm reminded of this exchange from when Sarah was heading off to the chess tournament:

"Mom, it's chess. You don't know anything about chess."

"I know a bit about Andy."

Ellison may not understand the game he's been playing, but he does know a bit about John Henry. He also knows about the worm attack, the Cyberdyne code base, the "brother" AI and he's actually played hide and seek with John Henry before with Savannah. All of that that makes him useful to Sarah. Between what she knows about Kaliba and what Ellison knows about John Henry, they'll be able to figure this thing out.

It'll be a tense and temporary alliance born of necessity, but maybe, just maybe Ellison will find some redemption in the process (and finally have a little fucking faith in Sarah Connor). And then he can get a bullet to the head... Or go paint a picture for the cops and join Silberman in Pescadero ;)

Okay, fine. When it's all over, he can go live happily ever after with Savannah and the widow Dyson (yeah, she'll factor into all of this because of Danny and Kaliba).

always engaging Roxy
Roxy, in the absence of a season 3 I always enjoy reading your musings on how you think the story should logically pan out. Entries like this one are always a fascinating read. Hell it's a disappointment to reach the end of these "wacky theory" posts because I want them to keep going for page's more. Similar to watching a show you like that ends on an awesome cliffhanger.

That's enough sucking up from me :)
Keep on writing, keep on musing, keep on thinking about TSCC.

I love that other people still love thinking about this stuff as much as I do :)

I can't help myself. If I ever lay out a final, all-encompasing theory on how everything plays out, I think I'll be really sad. Or maybe I'll just start fresh with a totally new storyline. In the meantime, I'll keep having my fun playing with what we got left with in TSCC.

Hungry Plot Bunnies
The writers are free to explore this scenario. I don't remember any divot in the concrete floor at Zeira Corp before T-Weaver and John Connor jumped.

Judgement Day had clearly happened when they arrived in the future. That implies that Sarah, Ellison, John Henry, Cameron-in-the-Turk, Terissa Dyson, Savanah Weaver, Matt Murch, Jesse, and All the King's Horses failed miserably. The writers could follow that train-wreck to the bitter end (a la Derek), before John Connor resets the loop by sending someone back with knowlege of how to intervene.

If the show jumps back and forth in time between John and Sarah, is it still her chronicle?

Re: Hungry Plot Bunnies
There's nothing I can do about John jumping to the future even if it does split the story for a while. But Sarah can be in the future too, having gotten there the natural way through time progression. If she's in both the present-day story and the future story, then yes, it can still be her chronicles.

The failure is something I still need to work through. Sarah fails (at least until John comes back to free up the future again), so her story has to focus more on why she fails, not the fact that she fails. I've got ideas. Nothing settled yet, though.

"Sarah can be in the future too
That's an interesting point. I've been pinned to the "Sarah dies of cancer soon" theory. Odd that nobody recognizes the name John Connor, if Sarah survives J-Day.

I think exploring *how* Team Connor fails (is) could be an interesting and worthwhile exercise, contrasting her "no compromises with the machines", no spare parts for Cameron, etc., while John's more collaborative attitude.

Revealing, and contrasting, the shortcomings of each philosophy would be really cool, IMHO.

Well this wouldn't be a "team Connor" failure since Derek's dead, John's in the future, Cameron's potentially out of commission for a while... So it's really just Sarah's failure to stop Skynet. I hate that the show forced that on us, but they did, so I'm working with it.

The contrast of Sarah and John's approaches is exactly what I think season 3 would've been (my vision of a continuation anyway). I see John's view as even more flawed than Sarah's but somewhere in between the two is the right path (kind of like the end of T2).

Re: Hungry Plot Bunnies
I'm defining 'Team Connor' loosely, as anyone who might be willing to help Sarah (or John), in any context, to preserve humanity.

I see John's view as even more flawed than Sarah's...

How so?

Re: Hungry Plot Bunnies
I should've said future!John's view is more flawed than Sarah's, not John's. But I've felt like John has been on the same path and would end up like future!John — overly reliant on metal, trusting machines more than humans, largely cut off from human contact and only talking to Cameron. John's little foray into future war is what I think will change that and get him back on track.

I'll tentatively accept that as canon.

Great points.

LOL!

Two rich Black parents adoping a white girl ...

"What you talkin bout Savannah?!"

My theory has always been that of Star Wars like Plot at least in season three in which Savannah is sort of the apprentice of Sarah's till she goes nuts and decides to go about a different way to save the future and Sarah ends up being a little like Kenobi in a new hope about the time John arrives in the future and is reunited with Momma ... which leads to John (the real savior) and Savannah (The pretender) to duke it out, but the T-1001 has already been created thus it all returns to the "will you join us?"

...

that had nothing to do with what you just wrote, but I spent more time typing that then I would like to admit ... so I'm, posting it anyway and do with it as you will ...

Cause I've come to far!

But in response to your post I'll quote "Oh Brother were art thou?"

Sarah: Break a Leg Ellison! ... It's a good thing your wife left you because if she saw you now she'd would die of shame!

Or ...

Ellison: I got an idea ...

Sarah: what ...?

Ellison: Why don't we get us one of them robots!

*Sarah throws something at Ellison*

Sarah: We had one till John henry took her chip you soft headed sum'o bitch!

(Elison truely is one of the worst Detectives ever ... Even Inspector Clueso actually solves cases at the end of the Pink panther movies ... what's Ellison's excuse?)

Hee. My only Star Wars comparison came into play when I was pushing my secret daughter crack theory way back when Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep aired... There is another. John has... a sisssssster :D
